T.I., Tiny Arrested on Drug Charges

Yardflex - Thu, 09/02/2010 - 13:01

Rap star T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were arrested on drug charges last night after police smelled alleged marijuana wafting from their vehicle, the AP is reporting.

The arrests for possession of a controlled substance occurred on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood during a traffic stop, Los Angeles sheriff’s deputy Mark Pope told The Associated Press.

“Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” the department said. “A narcotics investigation ensued” that resulted in the arrests.

The Atlanta-based T.I., 29, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., and Cottle, a 36-year-old singer with the group Xscape, were booked at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station and bail was set at $10,000 each.

T.I., starring in the current No. 1 film “Takers,” is on probation after serving seven months in an Arkansas federal prison and three months in a Georgia halfway house on federal weapons charges.

The father of five was released in March and married Tiny in late July. His new album, “King Uncaged,” is due later this month.

Woman Sues Diddy for Age Discrimination

Yardflex - Thu, 09/02/2010 - 12:24

A 51-year-old New York woman is suing Sean “Diddy” Combs, claiming he fired her because of her age two decades after she helped launch his career.

Francesca Spero filed the age discrimination lawsuit Wednesday in federal court in Manhattan, reports to the AP.

According to the lawsuit, the Malverne resident introduced Diddy to hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and Uptown Records after meeting Combs in 1988.

She went on to work at Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment record label as an executive for 12 years before being axed in March.

Spero’s lawsuit says she was fired after having hip surgery and confiding to an executive that she was treated for a drug dependency relapse.

A publicist for Combs says “there are many reasons why Ms. Spero is no longer employed by Bad Boy, but age discrimination is not one of them.”

Nurses dem a stick out

Yardflex - Thu, 09/02/2010 - 12:24

Several of the nation's hospitals reported a moderate level of absenteeism on Wednesday as the nurses stepped up pressure on the Government, to pay over millions of dollars, in outstanding allowances.

Our sources revealed that public health facilities in the North East Regional Health Zone were worst affected.

It is understood that the Port Maria and Annotto Bay hospitals had to send some patients home as nurses failed to turn up for their regular shifts.

Senior members of staff including doctors were forced to step in to keep operations at the hospital going.

There was also a high level of absenteeism reported at the Victoria Jubilee hospital in Kingston, the Linstead Hospital and the Mandeville Public Hospital.

There was no significant level of absenteeism at the Cornwall regional hospital as the nurses' stepped up what they call a "public education campaign" intended to push for the money owed to be paid.

Di nurse dem want dem money…pay up or else!

Kim Kardashian Is Done With Black Men

Yardflex - Thu, 09/02/2010 - 12:13

Kim Kardashian is done with black men for a minute at least. She’s interested in finding a “normal Armenian boy.”

This is coming from the woman who made a bet on football game for her at the time black boyfriend Reggie Bush to propose to her.

The same woman famous for a sex tape with her black ex-boyfriend Ray-J. Maybe we’re taking it the wrong way, but if a black man said this, we’d be all over it.

Supposedly her mom is trying to play Cupid but this is how Kim feels.

The Daily Word - INNER PEACE - Thursday, September 02, 2010

Yardflex - Thu, 09/02/2010 - 12:07

The peace of God fills my heart.

A river rushing downstream tumbles over rocks and flows around fallen logs. It is a busy current of power and energy.

But deep below the surface the water is calm and quiet, gently lending strength to the bustling activity at the surface.

Deep within me is a center of peace--a quiet strength that gives me the power and energy to pursue my dreams. When I pray, I draw on the peace within me. I trust in the strength and stability of God's indwelling presence.

Although outer circumstances may appear tumultuous, my strength comes from the center of my being where the peace of my soul is undisturbed.

Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people.--Psalm 85:8
