Given the strength of the Jamaican Brand across the globe, it came at no surprise to hear that foreigners are taking advantage of the Jamaican culture.

A few years ago the Jamaican government went as far as copyrighting the Jamaican name. But is it possible to protect the Jamaican brand from foreigners who have no strong connections to Jamaica except for the love of money. Read the Jamaican Gleaner article for more on this issue.
