Cash Plus management says we are not in trouble PDF Print

Image The management of Cash Plus Limited has sought to dispel reports that the company is in trouble.

In an advertisement placed in Tuesday's edition of the Gleaner newspaper, Cash Plus defended its ability to be a viable entity.

This has come on the heels of reports of a breakdown in the relationship between Cash Plus and its bankers.

Based on those reports, the RJR News Centre was last week flooded with calls from concerned customers.

On Saturday scores of persons descended on the Cash Plus offices in New Kingston.

However the Vice President of Operations at Cash Plus, Chris Goulbourne told RJR news that this was not unusual.

"We have changed certain things in our operations and we have asked our clients to come in on Saturdays to make adjustments to these changes. Now I think to an individual looking from the outside, when you see these people crowded here on a Saturday, you think there is something going on. No these people are all joining a line to get their things adjusted and changed," he said.

He also dismissed reports of a run on the institution and stated that Cash Plus enjoys a good relationship with its banks and continues to conduct its business within normal banking practices.

He said, "There seems to a hostile move that has taken place towards our company, and what this entails is some malicious rumors and defamatory statements are being made against the company. These rumors we will like to deny them and currently at our offices, we have the usual activity of people picking up and disbursing cheques. This takes place daily."

Cash Plus says it intends to take legal action against the people spreading what it termed to be malicious falsehoods.
