Behind these prison walls,
doing my paces, doing my time,
I am, spending my restless
nights, visioning faces "

The strains of the popular Reflections song brought some patrons to tears last Saturday night at the National Stadium, when the mystery surrounding Jamaican artiste Jah Cure was removed.
For years Bajan and reggae lovers across the world have been singing along to the conscious lyrics of the man locked away in a Jamaican prison. Barbadians saw and heard him up close.
Thousands of people converged at the Stadium for the Barbados leg of the Freedom Tour, featuring headliner Jah Cure, Everton Blender, Spragga Benz, Anthony B, Peter Ram, Buggy and several other local acts.
The diminutive singer spent just about an hour on stage, during which he thrilled fans with tracks like I'm Still Around, What Am I Longing For, Freedom and Love Is.
Given the screams and raising of hands and flags, Jah Cure's fans were pleased with his offering. But if there is any criticism at all, it would be that Jah Cure didn't use the stage to the fullest, or effectively communicate with his audience.
Fans might need to appreciate that Jah Cure now has to acquire those skills now that he is free and that these early tours will be a learning process for him.
Police public relations officer Station Sergeant David Welch said no incidents were reported in connection to the show. He congratulated the crowd for being "well-behaved", and encouraged them to exhibit similar behaviour at other functions.
