Fans of a legendary jazz singer based in Birmingham featured in the New Year’s Honours List, will be able to keep in touch with their hero - thanks to a new web site created by Persuaders Media, based in Birmingham’s Jewellery quarter,
89 year old Jamaican born saxophone virtuoso Andy Hamilton, received the MBE for his services to music in the awards published last week.
Andy and his band the Blue Notes are based in Birmingham and Fitzroy (Fitz) Coward of Persuaders said,
“Andy has been an inspiration to the live Jazz scene as long as I can remember and his new site is a great way for him to stay in touch with his fans all over the world. We designed the site to be easy to use and appeal to all ages; here Andy can blog about his life and fans can send him messages’’.
Andy Hamilton who first started playing in 1928 in Jamaica, is a regular at many of the top City music venues including Symphony Hall and has his own club in the City.
The web site records his achievements which have earned him international recognition. Fans can record their own memories of past and current performances and can even request particular songs…..
