The New BigCulture.com

After a countless Red Stripe beers and some real Jamaican food, we are almost completed the task of redesigning BigCulture.com. There have been many frustrating nights and many times we had to bring in some heavy Bob Marley music. I must say, there were a few clashes with Robert on site design and layout, he wanted to launch everything at once. But we remain committed to making this a real project to represent the Jamaican culture.

For users who have registered on the older version of BigCulture.com, all 130 of you, I want to say thanks for your support. Unfortunately we were unable to migrate your username and passwords. We ask you to register and start enjoying the new site. In a few weeks we will improve the flow of the site, especially user submission of content. We are also looking for website partners who are willing to take their site to the next level.

We at BigCulture.com have been encouraged by the support of both Jamaicans and non-Jamaicans who have one thing in common, the love for the Jamaican culture. As Jamaicans we remain committed to bringing the Jamaican culture, through websites, images, videos or places across the globe that feature the Jamaican culture, to you.

The power to create a “true” Jamaican resource online lies in the hands of users who register and vote for content that reflects their strong relationship with Jamaica.

As the saying goes “we little but we talawah”, so too we say at BigCulture, “Jamaican Culture Big” and will continue to be loved across the globe. We say to Jamaican website owners, BigCulture is not your competition, it is a site that enables you to be found by people who love the Jamaican culture. In last few months BigCulture averaged 15,000 monthly visits we hope to significantly increase this over the coming months.
