Nomination Day or Passa Passa

Yesterday, August 7, 2007 was nomination (significance “Science of the Sevens”). For the most part judging from what I was told by my relatives, it was a success. There were fine incidents of violence. Many supporters of both parties (sorry NDM you are not a factor) were celebrating in the streets.

In West Kingston, the Jamaica Observer reported jubilant celebrations akin to Passa Passa events. For many who predicted doom and gloom, they must have been disappointed. As one of my relative noted “We ago nyam dem out”. Many of the diehard party supporters have realised that the days of fighting each other is not practical. It is time to enjoy, expect more Passa Passa events leading up to Election Day.
