Did the PNP listen to the wrong Prophet?
The election is over the results are in and today the Jamaica Labour Party is now the official party in power. But what about the Phinn prophecy? According to Dr Phinn, the self confess prophet, Portia Simpson and the PNP were supposed to win the next general election. Many die hearted PNP supporters were comforted by this divine intervention. But as we all know the prophecy did not come to past. My ultimate question therefore is “Did the PNP listen to the wrong prophet?

Portia Accepts the Election Results
The People's National Party accepts the announced preliminary results, while reserving all rights under the Jamaica constitution and our electoral laws...The determination of the constitutional issues by the court, as well as the final count in all seats could have a bearing on the outcome of this election," The PNP will always respect the voice of the Jamaican people and their will, as expressed in the vote.

Conceding No Victory says Portia
The Prime Minister is doing the right thing by not conceding defeat to the opposition Jamaica Labour Party in light of the fact that some the JLP candidates have dual citizenship with the constitution forbid for members of parliament to have. Even if the Prime Minister does concede defeat, it would not be a real defeat for the PNP, nor would it be a real victory for the JLP because of the closeness of the outcome; What this means is that the PNP will be a strong opposition, so strong that the JLP will not be able to push through any bills without the PNP consent, the JLP basically wont be able to have any stable rule. After 18 years of being without power, if the JLP call this result a victory they are seriously delusional. If the results/outcome of this general election stand the way it is, the one good thing that will come of it is that we will sharply see the violence in Jamaica subside and reduce without the JLP implementing a single crime policy.

JLP Wins by a Neck
JLP led by Bruce Golding has won by a neck. Preliminary counts are close but all with most of the ballots counted the JLP has won this election. The PNP will obviously contest a number of close seats
