I came across this youtube video. The comments are really interesting and shows how much Jamaica is still divided. This election will not change anything most Jamaican will remain in "Third World" conditions if the mentality remains

"I am happy not to be there as well. The ability of a leader speaks greatly about the people who are being led. You may be a prime example. Try to forget about the curry goat your great grandfather got and think with sense. please make sure you get an education and try not to buy your degree like portia!! one love"

As one famous person once said “Politics is for Scare Benefits and Spoils”. This is even more apparent in the upcoming election. The Jamaica Labour Party has been in the wilderness for a very long time, more than one-third of the Jamaican population have known only the Peoples National Party in power. Many in the JLP are quietly whispering “It is my time fi run things”. However, the PNP have enjoyed the fruits and they will do their best to maintain their seats around the table.

The Peoples National Party currently forms the government and is led by Portia Simpson-Miller who became the first female Jamaican Prime Minister. The party's political platform has been traditional liberal. However in the past 10 years, the party has moved to the centre.
